ACTIVITIES

The Consortium in collaboration with a large number of community based agencies and private sector companies will develop web-based courses to be jointly offered, organize intensive short exchange course-based institutes, and long-term in-depth work experience exchanges. The project will support the development of community rehabilitation/disability studying capacity in Mexico, and pursue the development of flexible accreditation and professional credentialling practices in Canada and the US.

In-depth knowledge of similarities and differences between countries in disability policies and practices.

In-depth understanding of cultural differences.

Development of trans-cultural career experience.

Contribution to local disability service.

Development of local capacity in human services.

Also, an anticipated outcome of the practice-based exchanges is that program and administrative leadership skills will be developed not only amongst participating students but also by personnel in NGOs, small businesses and other organizations.
